VIKINGS PLACE 3rd AT NORTHWOOD DUALS

In a fantastic effort while giving up all those fofeit points, the Fassett wrestling team scraped their way to a 3rd place finish at the always competitive Northwood dual meet
tournament. Their only loss was by 6 points to eventual champion Springfield; 48-42. (Remember, the Blue Devils received 30 points from forfiets). The Vikings represented
themselves extremely well and had 4 individual champions.

FASSETT GOES 1-1 IN TRI-MEET AT SANDUSKY

The Vikings traveled to Sandusky for a league Tri-Meet against Sandusky and Findlay Glenwood and came away with a split; defeating Findlay 60-18 while dropping a 61-35 decision
to the Blue Streaks. Just as it was with the Eastwood duals, Fassett was giving up 5 weight classes and 30 points and it proved to be the difference against the host team.
Team captain Nick McNutt led the way and scored 2 falls on the evening. Also securing pins on the night were; Kevin Cameron (who also scored a Tech-Fall),
Dean Shousher, Brandon Maya, Zack Shinaver, Alex Dempsey, Brian Richmond and Robert Rank.
Wrestling exibition matches and winning by fall were Tony Ueberroth, Reed Siler and Cody Orth.
VIKING GRAPPLERS OPEN SEASON AT EASTWOOD DUALS

The Fassett wrestling team opened the 2008-09 season by participating at the Eastwood duals. The Vikings are missing wreslters at 5 weight classes which means for each dual
they participate in, they are spotting the opposition 30 team points. Still, the team was able to be competitive in every match and had a number of individual standouts.
Nick McNutt went 4 - 0 on the day while Dean Shousher, Zack Shinaver and Antonio Zapata all went 3 - 1.
